In the heart of Beverly Hills’ Golden Triangle, the Burns Family welcomes you to their fresh take on the American bistro. In a warm residential setting, punctuated by great contemporary art, or on the heated sidewalk patio, guests dine on a menu of personal favorites drawing upon the abundant resources available to us in Southern California.
Fresh oysters, pizzas and meats, and classic fare, including the famous Bob Burns Caesar salad, offer cuisine that is one part solid tradition and the other part fresh inspiration. California wines, craft beers, and classic cocktails round out the dining experience. Open for lunch, dinner, and drinks, Bedford & Burns is a great gathering place to enjoy with family, friends, and clients.
Our parents, Elizabeth and Bob Burns opened their first Bob Burns Coffee Shop in North Hollywood in the 1950s. Soon after, they added the fine-dining Tartan Room next door and over the following years, they added to the Bob Burns family of restaurants with locations in Santa Monica, Newport Beach, Woodland Hills, and Anaheim. After our father passed away in his late-40’s we (the three Burns “kids,” Beth, Bonnie, and Bobby) all got involved in the business and helped our mother run the restaurants. She was a formidable force in the restaurant world and rose to become the first female president of the California Restaurant Association, regularly lobbying on behalf of California restaurateurs in Sacramento.
In 1990, we branched out with a casual gourmet takeaway shop and catering company on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. Marmalade Café was a hit and we grew that concept for the next 15 years with locations all over Southern California before selling the majority stake in the company in 2007. Since that time we have been looking for an ideal location to open our idea of a great American bistro. Bedford & Burns draws on the tradition of classic American cuisine in and adds some fresh inspiration catering to the way contemporary diners enjoy eating out.
